History
In 2005, Bend’s Roundabout sculptures were honored by Americans for the Arts as being among the 37 most innovative approaches to Public Art in the country. Out of over 120 submissions, Bend's roundabout sculptures were cited specifically for their diversity - different projects appealing to a wide variety of tastes - and for the level of public discussion surrounding the arts that they have generated. Bend was also cited as an example of a small community engaged in a significant public art initiative.
Members of Art in Public Places include Sue Hollern, Cristy Lanfri, Jody Ward, Romy Mortensen and René Mitchell.
